Anchor two meals
Instead of trying to control every bite, make two meals clearly protein-forward. Breakfast and lunch are often easier to influence, leaving dinner flexible for the place you actually traveled to enjoy.
Use the places that are already there
Airport cafés, hotel breakfast bars, convenience stores and fast-food chains usually have at least one workable choice. Greek yogurt, eggs, milk, jerky, tuna packets, sandwiches and grilled chicken are common building blocks.
- Search the restaurant before arriving when possible.
- Pick the protein anchor first, then choose sides for hunger and enjoyment.
- Keep one shelf-stable backup in your bag for delays.
Let one day be one day
Missing a target during a long travel day does not erase your progress. Return to your normal routine at the next reasonable meal instead of trying to compensate with an enormous late-night serving.
