Why protein matters
Strength training tells your body that muscle is useful. Protein supplies amino acids for repair and remodeling. When calories are controlled, protein also helps protect lean tissue and can make meals more satisfying.
What protein cannot do
Protein does not create fat loss by itself, and it cannot compensate for inconsistent training. Recomposition usually works best with progressive lifting, adequate recovery and calories near maintenance or in a modest deficit depending on the person.
Make the plan boring enough to repeat
Choose a starting target, split it across the number of meals you already eat, and build a short list of reliable foods and restaurant orders. Consistency beats constantly searching for the mathematically perfect meal.
- Track strength progress as well as body weight.
- Use waist, photos or clothing fit when appropriate.
- Give the process enough time to show a trend.
